Simple images editing just got a whole lot easier with FotoFlexer. If you're like me, using Photoshop to do some basic photo editing can take some time. I'm not that artsy type that really gets a vision and can put it into something graphical. And, I don't spend much time in Photoshop so it's controls can take some time to find. So, when I stumbled upon FotoFlexer and saw the ease of doing some basic image changes as well has some more advanced fun stuff I was sold.
FotoFlexer is a web app that lets you edit your pictures. You can do more than simple things like cropping and rotating images. FotoFlexer lets you work with layers, reduce red eye, morph more than one photo together, and more.
The image below shows the simple and easy to navigate interface.

Why does this sound like a sales pitch? I'm sold on this site. If your an image guru or a regular user of Photoshop this service probably isn't for you. If you're an average Joe six pack who wants to do some simple image editing this web app makes it easy.
What does this have to do with the church? Images are one of the most common ways we share what happens in our lives with each other. We have photo albums that people look at, we post images online, we send photos to each other. We are a visual people and photos are one of the simplest forms of visual communication.
When we want to share experiences of living a Christian walk of life photos are a great way for people to see that. For example, I can talk about the mens floor hockey and devotional study group I am in and people have some interest. When they see photos, the guys sweating and having a great time, and the smiles on their faces the group takes on a whole new meaning. Photos are a way to share our lives with each other.
Did I mention, Fotoflexer integrates with flickr, Myspace, Facebook, and more? Check out their homepage for tutorial videos, demos, and more.

I've just discovered Geeks and God, and thus found your blog. I am a volunteer at my church with the Media team (which is all volunteer.) I am working on publishing a podcast for the first time thanks to the Geeks and God info!
Anyway, thanks for this web app! It is awesome! I don't have photoshop, but use it from time to time when I can get some time on friends' computers, and find it a pretty steep learning curve. Fotoflexer is so easy and intuitive for a non-photoshopper.
Podcast Site With Drupal
Next week I plan on posting a series of post here on building a podcast site with drupal if you're interested. Something to go along with the G&G series on podcasting at the same time.
Perfect!
I'll hold off on fumbling around 'trying' to make a site. It always helps to have some guidance.
Thanks!
